An off price retailer with 800 stores in the South East was referred to Renewal Logistics by an existing customer. They first engaged with our team during the pandemic, when the off price market was booming due to the stimulus checks that were being given out to families who had to stay home.

We acted as a third distribution center for this customer, allocating product to their 800 retail stores. In a week’s time we built scripts to process their data in a way that took out most manual aspects of data synching with their ERP and provided them almost real time visibility. Their prior vendor did everything by hand.

The process included receiving and inspecting the inventory to ensure quantities on their PO matched with what was received. Any variances (and this is off price, so there were many) were recorded and communicated back to the client immediately. Stickers were generated off of the updated inventory, and our team at Renewal Logistics proceeded to pick, pack, and sticker units, creating mixed SKU cases, allocating to each of their 800 retail stores. On each allocation sheet, we included data on what each store would receive in terms of product (SKU, description, quantity etc), along with that store’s tracking number.

We processed millions of units in this fashion, with no errors. Our team was able to turn 2 – 3 trucks per day in this cadence for approximately 4 months.

Renewal Logistics was able to essentially act like a dialysis machine for this retailer. We received reporting from their system, completed the inventory matching, product processing, and data cleansing that allowed us to turn new reporting to the client that was a simple upload for them. This cleaned data allowed the client to have visibility almost in real time. The setup costs for this were very very low and did not require integrations, which was important since this was never intended to be a long term requirement.
