Say Goodbye to Staffing Needs

Most distribution centers would say their temporary labor needs are a pain point, and are often a constraint to growth. This is because they are relying on recruiting services and staffing services to find and bring in a bench of workers from one day to the next. I could tell you so many stories about how frustrating this process is, but I’ll just keep it to two examples today.

1. You call a staffing company and ask for 35 workers. They assure you they’ll have 35 workers for you tomorrow.  Tomorrow comes and only 15 show up. So now, you are faced with either:

 – Adding more workers to your second or third shifts, which means your manager to worker ratio is going to be sub-optimal, which means your quality and efficiency are probably going to be ‘off’ or

 – You have to push out your ship deadline, and disappoint customers.

2. Another common frustration I hear is that clients will have a new staffing agency come to call, and they agree to do business together. The client orders 35 workers, and like magic, 35 workers appear the next day. The client is so happy! And this continues like clockwork for about a month. Then, the staffing agency finds a new client they want to impress and signs a new deal. 

All of a sudden the 35 great workers that were showing up like clockwork and doing a great job are now assigned to the new client so that the new client has an impressive experience with the staffing agency. And all of a sudden, client #1 is second fiddle and is only getting a partial fill for an order of people, and they’re not the best people.

With Renewal Logistics, we eliminate the staffing agencies from the equation. We’re responsible for bringing the bench of workers. We have 2000 workers in our database that we rank as A, B C, or D players, and this is based on their attendance, behavior, work quality, and speed. Each day, our clients decide instead of using staffing agencies and managing this hanging to e-commerce conversion in house, they instead send goods to our facility, and our workers handle the conversion process for the clients. We convert the goods for e-commerce, as well as prep them for Amazon FBA, or prep for wholesale. 

Trucks of our clients products arrive at 7 am each day, and we handle the goods and either ship the goods out from our DC for the client by 4pm, or send the goods back to the client’s DC by 5pm to be further handled for shipping on their terms. 

We were able to eliminate a huge pain point for our clients by simply bypassing the normal in house process temporarily. 

This is a service we of course provide to clients who use us for all of their warehousing and fulfillment needs. But this is also a service we can provide to clients who have their own Distribution Centers, who don’t want to lose efficiencies by managing aspects of the wholesale prep process in house.
